Abstrak
Pesticide application is the most common effort by farmers to control plant pests and diseases. However, the inappropriate use of pesticides can have a negative impact on human health and the environment. This study aimed to measure the level of knowledge, attitudes, and actions of shallot farmers on the use of pesticides in Cirebon Regency. The research was conducted from January to March 2022 through interviews with a structured questionnaire guide. Respondents were selected by purposive sampling based on the population of the farmer who work as shallot farmers in four sub-districts with a total of 60 respondents. The data was processed using Microsoft Excel 2010, then analyzed by using the X2 (chi-square) test at the level of =5% and 10%. The results showed that majority of farmers use synthetic pesticides because they can control pests and diseases more quickly.
