Abstrak
Slowing of national economic growth and stagnation of capture fisheriesproduction to supply fish consumption become the current national social andeconomic problems. The decline in export market demand and the price of leadingcommodities in the global market are the main causes of slowing economic growthand deficit in trade balance in Indonesia. For this reason, strategies and policies areneeded to strengthen the structure of the national economy and optimize the use ofnatural resources in an efficient and sustainable manner, one of which is throughthe development of leading non-oil and gas commodities that have competitivenessin the global market. Aquaculture is one of the sub-sectors that has the potential asan alternative to increase national food security, social welfare, and nationaleconomy. However, the potential of national aquaculture has not been optimallyutilized because of the complexity of the problems faced, both technical and nontechnical.
