Darkness at Bamiyan brings alive the tragedy of the famous 6th century Buddhist statues that were destroyed in Bamiyan, Afghanistan in 2001. Written in the form of an epic length dialogue between the two protagonists, Sol Sol and Shahmama, the book explores certain key facets of the universal human condition such as companionship, uncertainty, materialism, ritualism, dogma, guilt, anger and separation. Skillfully woven into the text are some fundamental tenets of Buddhits philosophy.
